Nominal value

The face value of a share: £1 for every share in this company. It is not the price. Ferris and Aldous & Wren paid £100 a share, while Dr Sayer paid the nominal value. Clause 1.2(b) · Clause 3.1 · Chapter 2

Explained in Chapter 2, Shares, Classes and the Register, of Shareholders' Agreements.

The main page for this term is Nominal value, in Venture Deals.

How it comes up, in Chapter 2
Every share has a nominal value (its face value). It says nothing about what the owner paid. The price per share is the amount the owner actually paid for it.
