Refund Policy

The short version: if you buy an edition and it is not what you hoped, tell us within 14 days and you get your money back. No interrogation, no “retention specialist”, no form with a mandatory dropdown about your feelings.

Effective 21 August 2026

1What this policy covers

This policy applies to one-time purchases of paid editions on Solon Press. The flagship M&A edition and the first chapter of every edition are free — where nothing was paid, there is nothing to refund, and this policy does not apply to them.

2How purchases work

Paid purchases on this Site are processed by Paddle, acting as merchant of record — the party that actually sells you the edition, collects payment, applies any VAT or sales tax, and issues your receipt. Your card details go to Paddle, never to us. Paddle's own buyer terms apply to the payment transaction alongside this policy and our Terms.

3The 14-day refund

If you ask within 14 days of purchase, we will refund an edition in full. You can ask in either of two ways:

Refunds are made to the original payment method. Allow a few business days for the banking system to do its banking.

4The one exception

We reserve the right to decline a refund where the pattern says the policy is being used as a free rental scheme — for example, an account that completes an edition's final exam and then requests a refund, repeatedly. We expect to invoke this rarely, and boringly: genuine dissatisfaction is always a good enough reason.

5After 14 days

Write to us anyway. Later refunds are at our discretion, but “discretion” is exercised by people who remember being on the other side of a disappointing purchase.

6Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be waived or limited. Where such law gives you more than this policy does, the law wins — which is, on reflection, how we would draft it anyway.
