Practice statement letter

The early letter that tells every creditor about the plan and the proposed classes before the convening hearing. The court’s Practice Statement requires it, so that any argument about classes comes up early. It opens with a table of the plan’s terms. Explanatory Statement, Appendix 5 · Chapter 8 · see Convening hearing

Explained in Chapter 8, Classes, the Convening Hearing and the Plan Meetings, of Restructuring Plans.

How it comes up, in Chapter 8
The court’s Practice Statement of 18 September 2025 sets the steps before the vote. It makes Valkenrade tell creditors early, so that any argument about classes comes up before the convening hearing. The first step is the practice statement letter, sent to every creditor in the plan. The table shows each step and the paragraph of the Practice Statement that asks for it.
