Official search with priority (OS1)

A search that asks the Land Registry what is new on the register and holds the searcher's place for the priority period. Harland Weir made Fellgate's in the bank's name, so one search protected both the purchase and the loan. Chapter 10 · see Priority period

Explained in Chapter 10, After Completion: Tax and Registration, of Buying Commercial Property.

How it comes up, in Chapter 10
Your firm had read the register on the official copies, months before completion (Chapter 3). A register can change on any working day, and nobody writes to say so. So on 8 June your firm made an official search with priority (form OS1). It asks what is new on the register, and it holds the searcher's place for a fixed time.
