The Contract’s name for Esme’s first 6 months, a trial with one week’s notice either side. A review meeting comes before the end of her fifth month. Clause 4.3 forbids any extension, because the law’s 6-month clock runs on regardless. Contract 4.1 · Chapter 3 · see Qualifying period

Explained in Chapter 3, Probation, Duties, Place and Hours of Work, of Employment Contracts.

Chapter 1 and this glossary are open to everyone; the whole edition is free to read with a free account until 31 January, and it stays open to an account opened by then.
