Local land charges search

A search of the register of burdens that public bodies place on land, such as an enforcement notice. For Leeds, HM Land Registry now holds that register. It is separate from the council's answers to the standard enquiries, so order both. Chapter 6

Explained in Chapter 6, Searches, of Buying Commercial Property.

How it comes up, in Chapter 6
Two sets of public records bear on the land, and they now sit in two different offices. The local land charges search asks the register of burdens that public bodies place on land under a statute. For Leeds, HM Land Registry now holds that register, and most councils' registers are moving there. Check where the register is held before you order the search.
