Commercial Leases · glossary

Permitted use

The only use the lease allows: “offices and a design studio, with ancillary storage”. Clause 5.5 makes Linnet keep to it. It is a promise to Fellgate, not planning permission, and it keeps a quiet tenant on the floor above Fellgate's own staff. Particulars: Permitted Use · Chapter 7 · see Licence for alterations

Explained in Chapter 7, Alterations and Use, of Commercial Leases.

How it comes up, in Chapter 7
The particulars state the Permitted Use in eight words: “offices and a design studio, with ancillary storage”. Clause 5.5 makes Linnet promise to use the floor for that and nothing else.
