Chain of title

The record of how the shares reached the seller: every transfer, new issue and buy-back since the first shareholders. Each link needs its papers, such as a signed stock transfer form and a board minute. A missing link means the seller may not own what it is selling. Report §3.1 · Chapter 6

Explained in Chapter 6, Corporate and Title, of Legal Due Diligence.

How it comes up, in Chapter 6
