1.The LinkedIn pageExplained in Ch. 2
My page, as it stood on the morning I qualified and as it stands a year later. The photo is by Anjali, outside the office, in daylight.
1.1Before — the headline as it stood on
1 September 2026: “Trainee Solicitor at Fenwick Rowe LLP”. No photo. No About section. One experience line:
“Trainee Solicitor, Fenwick Rowe LLP, September 2024 – present”. Last changed: September 2024.
1.2After — the headline from 7 September
2026, kept current since: “Corporate solicitor at Fenwick Rowe · company sales, investments and shareholders'
agreements · Manchester”.
1.3After — the About section as it stands
on 1 September 2027, first written at 120 words on 7 September 2026 and revised since: “I am a corporate
solicitor at Fenwick Rowe in Manchester. I help the owners of private companies sell them, bring in investors and
agree with each other how the company will be run — shareholders' agreements, investment rounds and company
sales, mostly for family and founder-owned businesses in food, software and payments. I qualified in September
2026 after a training contract at the same firm. The part of the job I like most is the translation: taking a
forty-page document and telling the finance director what it means in four sentences she can repeat to her
board. I have given one short talk on company law to colleagues and a great many to the cat. If you work with
growing companies in the North West, say hello.”
1.4The experience line, current (as at
1 September 2027): “Solicitor, corporate team — Fenwick Rowe LLP, Manchester, September 2026 to date. A
40-partner firm acting for owner-managed and family businesses in the North West. Company sales, investment
rounds and shareholders' agreements; five completions as the day-to-day lawyer in my first year; trained the team's first-seat trainee day to day from February to July 2027, through his first completion; gave the
team's October talk on Companies House identity checks and wrote it up as a post.”
1.5The earlier lines: “Trainee Solicitor,
Fenwick Rowe LLP, September 2024 to August 2026 — four six-month seats: corporate, commercial property,
employment, disputes; assisted on ten corporate deals; ran the data room on two company sales.”
“Paralegal, corporate team, Fenwick Rowe LLP, 2022 to 2024 — signing and completion bibles on twelve deals; Companies House filings for 30 companies.”
“Education: LLB (Hons), [university], 2021. Legal Practice Course, 2022.”

1.6What I post, and how often: “One post a
month, under 200 words, on one point of company law I had to explain that week, as a general point — the
client, the matter and the week left out. Nothing about a client, a deal or a colleague that is not already
public, and nothing about a deal until the firm has announced it. Nothing about my feelings on a Monday. I reply
to every comment within two days, including the ones that correct me — especially those. I update the page the
week anything changes: a title, a talk, a deal I am allowed to name. Last checked: 1 September 2027. Next
check: the first Monday of October.”
