Module 5 · Chapter 9
Marketing Emails: Consent and the Soft Opt-In
A business may send marketing emails to people who said yes, or to its own customers on strict conditions. This chapter shows both routes, and when the emails must stop.
In this chapter
- When a business needs a yes before it sends a marketing email
- How the soft opt-in lets Seedlark email people who tried the app
- Why an objection always wins, and a bought list never works
9.1Marketing emails in one paragraph
A marketing email tries to sell something. Before a business sends one, it usually needs the person’s consent: a clear yes to its emails. One exception lets it email its own customers without asking first, but only on strict conditions. Seedlark wants to email people who tried the app, and you check that each email is allowed.
Key point
Seedlark sends a marketing email only with a yes or under the exception, and stops when asked.
Also in this chapter
- Consent, or the soft opt-in’s four conditions
- Two chances to say no
- An objection always wins, and a bought list never works
